Bolt Tokens vs Hosting: Does the Site Go Down?

This page covers whether a Bolt token cap takes a published site offline. Current plan prices stay on Bolt. Compare generation-versus-hosting coupling across builders on the deployment-limits matrix. This is not a Bolt tutorial.

Direct answer

If I run out of Bolt tokens, does my live app go down?

Generation tokens
Fact Bolt consumes tokens when it reads, thinks about, and builds the project. Free plans have 1 million tokens per calendar month and a separate 300,000 daily cap. Paid tokens reset on the renewal date.
What still works at the token cap
Fact If you hit the Free daily cap, you can still make direct edits in Code view, which does not use tokens. Token exhaustion is not documented as a hosting shutdown.
Hosting meter
Fact Bolt Cloud hosting is a different allowance: Free up to 10 GB bandwidth and 333,333 requests per month; Pro up to 30 GB and 1 million requests. Those limits apply to the Bolt account as a whole, not per project.
When a live site actually stops
Fact Free plan sites stop serving content once they hit their monthly hosting data limits and stay offline until usage resets at the start of the next billing cycle. Pro can keep sites online with pay-as-you-go data up to a dashboard spending cap, then pause.

Two meters, not one credit

Do not convert tokens into gigabytes or request counts.

What this page does not do

TraceCheck maintainer: review when Bolt changes token caps, hosting bandwidth/request numbers, or the Free offline-until-reset rule. Do not treat tokens and hosting gigabytes as interchangeable.
