Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

TraceCheck is a static information site. It does not provide accounts, sign-in, a newsletter, payments, or a contact form, and it does not intentionally ask visitors to submit personal information. The hosting provider may process technical request information needed to deliver and secure the site.

Analytics

When a deployment is configured with a Google Analytics 4 measurement ID, it loads Google's analytics script to measure page views and site interactions. These include opening source links and issue or change records, submitting a site search, using comparison or calculator controls, and opening RSS. Measurement data is sent to Google, and Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies. See Google's Privacy Policy.

The site search filters a published index in your browser; it does not upload device logs or scan your device. Our custom search events include the query length and result count, including searches with no results, and omit the search text. The analytics page-view configuration omits URL queries and fragments. Search text can still appear in your browser's page URL and hosting request logs. Do not enter sensitive information in a site search or public support request.

Windows investigation check

The Windows investigation check processes your selections in the page. It does not submit them, store a profile, scan your PC or upload device logs. Saving an investigation brief creates a Markdown file on your device. The brief contains your selected symptom, version and applicability answer together with public record information. Site analytics remain as described above; the investigation selections are not included in custom analytics events.

Advertising and cookies

Ads are not currently displayed in this deployment. If Google AdSense is enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may serve ads and may place or read cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar identifiers for ad delivery, measurement, frequency capping, or personalization. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies to show ads based on a user's visits to this or other sites.

Users can manage personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. For an explanation of how Google uses data on partner sites, see How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps. This policy will be updated before any new data collection or advertising service is enabled.

Contact and updates

For privacy questions, privacy requests, or corrections, visit Contact TraceCheck. Requests go to the separate public support Issues page on GitHub. GitHub sign-in is required to post; requests and replies are public and subject to GitHub's Privacy Statement. Do not post personal information, credentials, API keys, or private billing details. Start with a general description of the request without sensitive details. This policy may be updated when the site's data use changes; the date above records the latest update.
