Gemini CLI Google Login: Still Supported?
This page covers which Gemini CLI / Code Assist login paths still work after 18 June 2026. Current Standard and Enterprise prices stay on Gemini pricing. The product overview remains Gemini coding tools. This is not an Antigravity product hub and not a quota table.
Direct answer
Is Gemini CLI discontinued, and does Google login still work?
- Consumer Google login
- Fact Starting 18 June 2026, Gemini Code Assist IDE extensions and Gemini CLI stopped serving requests for Gemini Code Assist for individuals, Google AI Pro, and Google AI Ultra. The deprecation page says you can no longer use Login with Google for those consumer paths.
- What still works
- Fact Gemini Code Assist Standard and Enterprise subscriptions remain unchanged. The 19 May 2026 Google Developers Blog post also states Gemini CLI remains accessible via paid Gemini and Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform API keys.
- Is the CLI dead?
- Fact Google did not discontinue the Gemini CLI project for remaining enterprise and API-key users. Consumer individual / AI Pro / AI Ultra request serving on that login path ended on the dated cutoff.
- Auth docs vs deprecation
- Unknown — conflicting Gemini CLI authentication docs last updated 17 August 2026 still recommend logging in with a personal Google account, including Google AI Pro and Ultra, while the deprecation page says that consumer path ended. TraceCheck does not treat the setup guide as current Fact for those consumer tiers.

Current login paths
| Path | Status after 18 June 2026 | TraceCheck will not infer |
|---|---|---|
| Login with Google · Code Assist for individuals / free | Fact Stopped serving requests on the dated cutoff. | A remaining hidden free quota. |
| Login with Google · Google AI Pro or Ultra | Fact Same cutoff. Those consumer tiers are named on the deprecation page and the I/O timeline. | That a Pro/Ultra Gemini app subscription still includes Gemini CLI OAuth. |
| Gemini Code Assist Standard or Enterprise | Fact Access to the IDE extensions and Gemini CLI remains unchanged. | Account-specific remaining request counts. Those stay Unknown here. |
| Paid Gemini API key / Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform key | Fact The I/O post says Gemini CLI remains accessible via those paid keys. | A specific key’s quota or billing. That is project-dependent. |
| Antigravity CLI as consumer replacement | Fact Official deprecation and I/O posts point consumer users at the Antigravity family. Antigravity is not a TraceCheck product record. | Antigravity prices, quotas, or feature parity. Those are outside this page. |
Official sources disagree on consumer Google login
Unknown — conflicting The dated deprecation page and the 19 May 2026 Developers Blog post say consumer Login with Google request serving ended 18 June 2026. The Gemini CLI authentication setup page, last updated 17 August 2026, still recommends personal Google login and still lists Google AI Pro and Ultra under individual accounts.
TraceCheck does not treat that later setup recommendation as current Fact for consumer individuals, AI Pro, or AI Ultra. Standard/Enterprise and paid API-key paths remain the documented remaining routes.
What this page does not do
- It does not publish Gemini CLI daily request numbers. Official quota docs still list consumer figures that conflict with the deprecation. That remains Unknown — conflicting.
- It does not add Antigravity as a TraceCheck product or write Antigravity setup steps.
- It does not treat the August 2026 authentication guide’s “most users should sign in with a personal Google account” line as current consumer Fact.
TraceCheck maintainer: review when Google updates the consumer deprecation page, the I/O timeline, or Gemini CLI authentication docs. Do not publish consumer quota numbers while that conflict remains unresolved.
