ClinePass Limits: Which Clock Did I Hit?
This page covers ClinePass as a separate $9.99/month provider with three simultaneous usage windows and unpublished numeric caps. Cline the open-source agent is not this SKU. Current plan stickers stay on Cline pricing. Product identity stays on Cline. This is not a Cline install guide.
Direct answer
I hit a ClinePass limit. Which clock is it, and is Cline dead?
- What ClinePass is
- Fact Official ClinePass docs: an optional $9.99/month subscription provider. You do not need it to use Cline. It is a separate provider from Cline (usage-billing).
- The three clocks
- Fact ClinePass measures usage against a rolling 5-hour window, a calendar week, and a calendar month. Check current usage on the Cline dashboard.
- How much usage
- Unknown — undisclosed Official text describes 2–5× usage versus standard API rate on popular open coding models. That is a vendor comparison, not a published token, request, or dollar allowance. Timezone and rollover are not published.
- What to do instead
- Fact Authorization and free-model docs: switch to Cline usage-billing (pay-as-you-go credits), BYOK, or a local model. Those paths have their own costs and limits.
- This occurrence
- Unknown — account_dependent TraceCheck cannot see which of the three windows a specific dashboard percentage refers to, or the exact at-cap string on this account.

Three windows, one unpublished quota
| Window | Official wording | Published size |
|---|---|---|
| 5-hour | Fact Rolling 5-hour period. | Unknown No numeric cap. |
| Weekly | Fact Calendar week. | Unknown No numeric cap. |
| Monthly | Fact Calendar month. | Unknown No numeric cap. |
What this page does not do
- It does not publish a ClinePass token table. Reference per-1M prices on the ClinePass page are not the subscription bill.
- It does not treat community reconstructions of weekly percentages as Fact. Reddit threads are Observed demand.
- It does not claim Cline itself has a universal subscription quota. The agent remains provider-dependent.
- It does not replace Cline pricing for current plan prices.
TraceCheck maintainer: review when Cline publishes numeric ClinePass allowances, changes the three-window wording, or documents a different at-cap recovery path. Do not invent token or request counts from the 2–5× marketing range.
